Challenge:

ASARCO utilizes Mincom MIMS 4.1.  In day to day usage, training and user-friendliness are ongoing issues.  Due to 
the complex nature of creating warehouse requisitions using MIMS, many requisitions are processed as purchase 
requisitions, causing unnecessary spend and increased overhead for processing purchase orders.  This also results 
in non-cataloged spend and difficulty managing and measuring spend. 

Solution:

ASARCO implemented eMESA as a friendly web-based front-end to MIMS for over 700 end users to facilitate and 
streamline business processes in the following areas:
	
    - Work Order Management
    - Warehouse Requisitions
    - Purchase Requisitions
    - Backlog Management
    - Work Order Completion
    - Work Order Scheduling

As a result of this implementation, ASARCO saw the following trends emerge:

    -Increased % of Warehouse Requisitions vs Purchase Requistions
    -Increased number of Work Orders created
    -Increased number of Work Orders planned and scheduled
